Campus Ministry and Chaplain
Nurturing Faith and Outreach on Campus and in the Community
tradition and the quest for spiritual truth. Broad and ecumenical in approach and with a strong commitment to educating students to meet needs in our world, we highlight the pastoral vision outlined in the U.S. Bishops’ Pastoral Letter, entitled “Empowered by the Spirit: Campus Ministry Faces the Future”
Campus Ministry works closely with the College Chaplain to serve the holistic education of our students by attending to the faith, spiritual and religious formation of the College community. Throughout the year, students are invited to gather and reflect more deeply on their life experiences and how these experiences impact their relationships with self, others and God. The Campus Ministry program includes opportunities for spiritual development, education about community needs and personal outreach to build a better, more just and compassionate world. From spending a week helping rebuild homes in New Orleans to arranging weekly student visits with senior adults residing at Sansbury Care Center and helping 23 families make changes and adopt practices to qualify their houses as Green Pioneer Homes, there’s always something going on to engage students in service to their community and put their faith into action.
The Campus Ministry Office is a frequent meeting place for students to talk about their daily lives, to dialogue about campus and world events and to plan significant campus events such as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, International Day of Peace, Thanksgiving Convocation and Baccalaureate. The Campus Ministry Office is a safe and inviting space where students find acceptance, are encouraged to seek important truths and are called to speak their voices.
Led by Campus Minister, Chaplain Ben Brown . Campus Ministry also hosts an array of opportunities for prayer, sacraments, meditation, spiritual nourishment and religious instruction on campus .
