At St. Catharine College, beef is what’s for dinner . . . and lunch! Though a wide range of food choices is always available (including vegetarian options), we are particularly proud to feature beef from the St. Catharine Farm operated by the Dominican Sisters of Peace. This beef is antibiotic and steroid-free and raised just next door to the college. This is just one of the ways that we are “Kentucky Proud,” serving locally grown products and in-season produce also from the farm.
Our dining center serves appetizing, nutritional, and cost-effective meals with friendly, courteous service to students, faculty, staff, and the community who dine together daily at the Spalding Student and Community Center at St. Catharine College.
Whether it’s “Fish Friday,” jambalaya for Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras, or “Three Dog Night” (yes, hot dogs with a variety of toppings) . . . there are special menus and fun food options throughout the year. You might even catch the dining center director singing “Come to My Window” on steak night (when steaks are served at the grill window) or be spooked by one of the staff serving ghoulish delights from the haunted sweet shop on Halloween.
You’ll also notice many efforts to reduce food waste and contribute to the college’s sustainability efforts through recycling and going “trayless.”
Resident students purchase meal plans for 19 meals/week and 20 percent discounts are available to commuter students with their college IDs. The dining center is open the following hours weekly, except for specified break periods:
