When using logos, use the current, approved St. Catharine College logo in appropriate fonts, colors, and formats. St. Catharine College logos should be displayed on a background of one of the official colors of St. Catharine College; PMS 520 Purple or PMS 123 Yellow Gold. The logo is available on the St. Catharine College website at www.sccky.edu/brandelements in digital format. There is no need to attempt to replicate the logo. In some instances, deviation from the official colors is necessary; however, any deviation must be approved in advance by the Marketing & Communications Committee.
Please do not use older or unapproved logos associated with the College, departments, programs, or business units.
St. Catharine College does not utilize other organizations' logos without receiving proper permission first. It is a considerable legal risk to use other organizations' logos without express permission. Logos are typically registered trademarks that give the particular organization legal rights and control over the logos and how they are used. This includes, but is not limited to,
other educational institutions' logos, mascots, athletic memberships, and other marks.
When expressing the name of the college - "St. Catharine College" - on a T-shirt, the St. Catharine College official logo must be used.
The athletics logo may be used for athletic-based purposes, but should not be used on more formal, academic or business-related materials. For example, shirts meant to be worn to sporting or spirit-related events may use the athletics logo. However, shirts worn by faculty and staff members in their official capacity as representatives of St. Catharine College, or as part of their work function, should not use the athletics logo. Instead, those shirts should use the official St. Catharine College logo. Apart from sporting or recreational events, do not use the athletics logo on shirts created for use at off-campus events.
The St. Catharine College official colors of PMS 520 Purple or PMS 123 Yellow Gold should be used as the main color palette for both the shirt itself and the art printed or embroidered on the shirt. Any other colors used in the piece should be accents and should not overpower the St. Catharine College palette, and must be approved by the Marketing & Communications Committee. Background colors, if not used from the approved SCC palette, for any piece must be approved by the Marketing & Communications Committee.
The main fonts used should be in the following font families: Trajan Pro, Berling, or Helvetica Neue.
Please e-mail final art of all T-shirts and other clothing and wearable pieces to email@example.com at least five business days before the item is due to print. All forms of advertising, particularly those paid for by the College and that feature St. Catharine College branding and logos, are subject to pre-approval. This includes advertising created to support student organizations, student research, athletic teams and faculty research.
